Central bank says Russian inflation same as at peer economies
MOSCOW, Nov 15 (PRIME) – Russia’s inflation does not differ much from the price rises in peer economies, although the country has sustained more profound shocks, Central Bank Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina told the State Duma, parliament's lower chamber, on Tuesday.
"As a result, our inflation does not differ much from inflation in peer economies, although we dealt with much more profound shocks," Nabiullina said.
A stronger ruble allows the country to restore imports in spite of logistic and consumer price costs, the official said.
Nabiullina also said that the global economy could avoid a large-scale crisis, if the central banks raise their rates without fearing to restrict economic growth.
